Wally Chin Opens Chin Chin Spinoff Walle in Midtown

On Monday night, Wally Chin, the owner of Midtown East standby Chin Chin, opened his new nearby restaurant Walle. Billed as an American restaurant "with Chinese flair," Walle is helmed by chef Chris Cheung (late of The Monkey Bar and China 1), and serves items like pork buns and lobster dumplings but also burgers, strip steaks, and short ribs. The space seats about 120 in all—including the "VIP room" and the bar, lounge, and outdoor dining area. As for prices, they hover in the low $20's for entrees, low teens for apps, pretty decent for the area and the look of the menu.
