New York City is home to a lot of restaurants, more than any rational human being can ever hope to visit. Among that number are hidden gems the majority of New Yorkers just aren't unearthing. To help guide us to these potential discoveries, we've enlisted some of our city's many food luminaries to share with us their under the radar recommendations for Dining Confidential.

Today we seek a favorite from Gabriel Stulman, the restaurateur who's built a mini empire in the West Village with Joseph Leonard, Jeffrey's Grocery, and the recently-opened Fedora revamp.

"Haandi, an Indian restaurant on Lexington. It is just an extremely casual, inexpensive and tasty place for Indian food. I don't know the names of any dishes unfortunately. The menu changes with great frequency - I usually just ask whoever is in the kitchen what they are most excited about on any given visit or whatever I see on most peoples' plates. Also they have an awesome rice pudding dessert."
