Here's a fun fact revealed at a recent tasting of new roast beef sandwiches from national chain Arby's: their new Gravy Dipper sandwich—which comes with "debris-style gravy with bits of particulate"—was inspired by the sandwiches at This Little Piggy Ate Roast Beef, the year-old East Village sandwich shop owned by the Artichoke team. Piggy's "This Way" roast beef sandwich comes on a roll with au jus and cheez whiz. Arby's is still in beta.
Said the owner of Piggy, "That's pretty impressive...It's giving me goosebumps." Now he wants to do a throwdown.
