1) Greenwich Village: A tipster brings word that decades old University Place red sauce joint Buona Sera closed yesterday. It was put on the market just weeks ago, so the shutter will be a surprise to few. Notes our tipster, "The nightmarish rumor is that Caliente Cab Company is chasing the space. God help us." [ShutterWire]

2) East Village: Avenue A Sushi (opened in 1983) closed around this time last year only to open again in April after some renovations as Avenue A Bistro Bar. Now EV Grieve reports that they're closed again "for vacations." They'll open sometime this or next week under new management once again. [EVG]

3) Park Slope: Zagat notices that seven month-old Mamá Rosa Latin Bistro has been closed at primo dinner times and is probably closed for good. No one answers the phone at the restaurant and the voicemail box is full. [Zagat]

4) Midtown East: PX This learns that Ten Ten the new upscale Pan-Asian takeout spot from Shorty.32's Josh Eden has closed after just three months in business. [PXThis]

5) Union Square: Numerous Yelpers report that Sushi Ariyoshi near Union Square closed for good at the beginning of the month. [Yelp]
