Today, we offer a few more details on yesterday's news that ever-growing East Village lobster shack Luke's Lobster is coming to the Financial District. Co-owner Ben Conniff tells Eater that they're shooting to open sometime in May and that they have their fingers crossed for that beer license approval from Community Board 1. He writes, "We’re very excited, as this will be our first foray into serving the big lunch crowd. We know we have a huge fan base in the area and are happy that we can provide some of the most stressed-out New Yorkers with a bit of relaxation and the quality seafood they deserve just minutes from their desk." Bonus: Their space sits right next to a little park with benches, "perfect for the coming nice weather."
With this and the eventual arrival of Death & Co.'s new spinoff over on Broad Street, things are looking pretty good for the restaurant desert that is FiDi.
