The restaurant space that once held Kurve, the best spaceship themed restaurant to ever hit lower 2nd Avenue, was finally emptied out this week and covered with a plywood shed. Meaning, finally, a new operator is taking the space eight months after Kurve/Rhong Tiam East closed for business. Who, then, is taking it? Grub Street learns today that it's the owners of Dempsey's and Sláinte. They will be opening "a craft-beer-focused bar-restaurant with 25 rotating taps and higher-end fare" (American comfort food mixed in with some Irish staples) sometime in July.
That's cool, we'll take it. But it would have been fun if it could have stayed a lemonade stand.
