The Five Best Comments on Eater New York This Week

New, 1 comment

Welcome to Saturday Night Five, where we shine a light on the best quips, barbs, burns, and nuggets of truth from Eater NY commenters. Here's this week's cream of the crop:

5) Sneakeater has a different take on rooftop gardens like the one planned for North End Grill:

Will they pull the seafood from New York Harbor?

I always wonder why we're supposed to be so excited about eating produce grown on rooftops in New York. This air is supposed to be GOOD for vegetables? My wife and I had a plot in a community garden in Brooklyn, until we concluded that vegetables grown at the corner of Flatbush and Pacific might not be the best things to put into your body.

4) Eat Big Apple is inspired by the Sound Bites video with Michael Laiskonis:
Amazing video. Time to experiment (and fail miserably) this weekend at home.

3) An anonymous commenter has some fond memories of Acme Bar & Grill:

i loved going to shows @ under acme in the mid to late 90s.

when i worked in soho, i'd order from acme when i craved a burger. they never seasoned the meat.

2) Arightdoom considers his current employment situation while reading our McSorley's liveblog:
This is why I desperately sent you my resume 6 months ago. It's so sinful that I'm behind a desk right now.
1) An anonymous commenter calls out our kid critics:
Can't trust this review. The smiley face is a sure sign that these two have been made and are getting preferential treatment.
Congrats to this week's Saturday Night Five! Next round's on us.
