Next Door Expansion Rumored for White's Osteria Morini

Multiple sources—but not yet the chef himself—tell Eater that empire builder Michael White has taken over the lease of a space adjacent to his runaway Soho hit Osteria Morini. We originally heard it was going to be a German-themed beer garden, but more recent talk has that plan off the table. Still the space is his to do with what he wishes, and considering how business is going at Morini, it could simply serve a spillover. Or he could knock down a wall and make a second room. Or maybe it will just be a TupperWare store. Expect more details as the plan is developed.

Elsewhere in the White White World, we hear he's definitely considering London—remember he was taking a trip there this spring—and back Stateside, he's considering spaces in Tribeca and the Upper East Side. Is Michael White becoming the Jean-Georges of 2011?
