Giving Bloomie a Hand

The Daily News is a little upset that Mayor Bloomberg is considering laying off thousands of teachers and city workers but pays $245,000 in tax payer dollars to keep three chefs full time at the Gracie Mansion. In response, the owner of East Village restaurant Spina offered the services of her chefs to the mayoral mansion pro bono and hopes more restaurants do the same. The New York State Restaurant Association supports the idea. [NYDN]
