Meatpacking District comedy club Comix shuttered on Saturday night after four years of making us laugh. According to a report on the blog The Comic's Comic, the club's owners had been having some financial issues for quite a while, as many comedians who performed there recently said they were stiffed on their paychecks. The CC says "then comics weren't the only workers getting stiffed by the club. More employees were let go. The club stopped restocking paper", and now it's closed. It's not all sad news. First, Comix fans have a chance to own a piece of their favorite club by participating in an auction for all of the club's fixtures and equipment, including a two head slushie machine. Second, there is now a fully licensed Meatpacking District lounge on the market for the right investor. SNAP 2 anyone?
