Back in June, there was talk of chef Jose Garces, he of Iron Chef fame, inking a deal with the upcoming casino and hotel Revel in Atlantic City. A press release today confirms. The chef will open three restaurants inside the resort next spring: Amada (an Andalusian tapas bar), Village Whiskey (cocktails and fancy American bar food), and Distrito Cantina (a margarita bar with Mexican street food). These restaurants come in addition to the 38,000 square foot nightclub, handled by some Vegas operators, two other clubs, two theaters, and plenty of retail shops already planned for the space.
Garces will join restaurateur Steve Hanson (Bill's Bar & Burger, Dos Caminos), Geoffrey Zakarian, and Bobby Flay in taking the South Jersey plunge. After all, it's just a quick hop for his Philadelphia fan base.
