1OAK owners Scott Sartiano and Richie Akiva are just days away from the biggest opening of their lengthy nightlife and hospitality careers as they prepare to open the Las Vegas branch of the New York club at the Mirage Hotel in a partnership with the Light Group. The duo says they are bringing their New York game to the desert in a more boutique way than the Las Vegas nightlife scene is used to, with a capacity of just 1600 compared to the 5000 person standard casino mega club. The duo thinks the 1OAK experience will travel well, which Akiva explains to the Wall Street Journal it's "energy, it's music" while Sartiano says "it's vibe, it's people." But can't anyone just take those four things and open a club? Pfff says Akiva, explaining that "If I give you my formula, then someone else can do it," but "we have little secrets that we want people to experience. You'll have to see. Anyone can build four walls, add speakers and a deejay booth and say, 'I have a club.' That's not what we do." Makes sense now. If you are going to be in Vegas and want to experience the 1OAK Las Vegas experience, feel free to buy a $200 ticket.
