This Saturday the team behind once-hot now-shuttered Long Island City restaurant M. Wells will host a Winter Carnival in the courtyard of MoMA's P.S. 1. From noon until 6 PM, they'll offer wood-oven duck cassoulet, slices of their famous tourtières (meat pies), slices of pecan and maple pie, and maple taffy. Pies can be pre-orderd in whole form by writing here.
Other LIC favorite Manducatis will have porchetta and grilled meats and will set up a pyramid of classic holiday sweet bread pannettone. Also: live music, ice sculptures, warm drinks, contests, prizes, and gingerbread houses. Admission is $10 (unless you're just picking up a pie).
