Turkey's Nest Tavern, the favorite watering hole of crusty Williamsburg old-timers/McCarren Park kickball players, was shut down last week after
a bad visit from the DOH. The Running Scared blog reports that they found enough violations to deem the bar a "public health hazard." The inspector found some plumbing problems, but the real deal-sealer was the critical violation of "evidence of mice or live mice present in facility's food and/or non-food areas."
This was the Turkey Nest Tavern's third inspection in the last few weeks (the one before that was on Halloween). Although they've been closed since the visit last Wednesday, the owners say that they should be back up and running by tomorrow night, if all goes according to plan.
