Brit-Themed Whitehall Now Open in Sweetiepie Space

The balloons and pink banquettes have been carted away, the gold human-sized birdcage and the walls of mirrors sold off, and the space that was once the ill-conceived kid-friendly Sweetiepie is now Whitehall, the third property from the team behind Mary Queen of Scots and Highlands. Modeled after London's public places, including parks and train stations, the space is outfitted with green park benches instead of banquettes (save for some luxurious leather numbers in the back room), white subway tiles on the walls, and basic chairs and barstools.

On the menu: Modern British cuisine, using "high-quality local ingredients, preparing them in ways which combine traditional British recipes with modern innovations" (think: whole sea bream, pork chops, rabbit and sage sausage). The 35 seat space is currently open and will add 50 al fresco seats next summer. As usual, send all early reports to the tipline.
