A rep for the Parks Dept. appeared before Community Board 8 to present plans for the new iteration of famed but defunct Central Park restaurant Tavern on the Green. Though neighbors balked at the idea, the city would like to offer both a casual dining room (where park-goers can get sandwiches and tapas) and a fine dining room that takes reservations. Proposals for a 20-year operating license will be issued shortly and would be due by December or early 2012. [DNA Info]
