The New Culture Club Ditches The 80's For Rokk City

The Culture Club rebirth has only been around for a few weeks, but the temple to all things 80's has already decided to venture beyond its time. The Culture Club folks have opened their doors for a new event that is being called Rokk City and tomorrow night is the first event. Up until now, Culture Club has only been opening its doors on Friday and Saturday nights and a club representative told Eater that the plan is to eventually have additional nights, so it seems a bit strange to cede one of the two nights to a completely different theme that is the opposite of the campy club. Or maybe they just realized that there isn't much of a market for a 1980's themed club since every other club already plays 80's music in one form or another.
