Noho favorite and brunch destination Five Points is the latest in a string of New York restaurants to be hit with a class action labor suit. This latest complaint, filed at the end of October, is on behalf of any and all waitstaff who have worked at the restaurant at any point in the last six years, and it alleges that the restaurant failed to offer a spread of hours wage and overtime and made illegal deductions for uniforms, staff meals they didn't eat, and credit card processing fees.
Five Points joins the company of Le Bernardin, Daniel Boulud's empire, Alto, '21' Club, the Batali Empire, Brother Jimmy's, and Artisanal, just a handful of other restaurants that have been hit by a similar suits in the past year.
This time around the FOH staff is being repped by Bronson Lipsky, not famed thorn in the industry's side Maimon Kirschenbaum.
