As promised, Di Fara, the cultishly loved Midwood pizzeria that was shuttered for a week following a failing Dept. of Health inspection, is back open today. The owners updated their Facebook page today with the good news, much to the glee of their 7,000 friends and followers.
The restaurant shuttered last Wednesday with a DOH inspection resulting in a 67 point rap sheet, including violations regarding the plumbing, the vermin, the food, and the personal cleanliness of the workers. It led to cries of both outrage (at the DOH) and disgust (at pizza godfather Dom DeMarco), but all is settled now, and the pizza-loving public of New York can go back to rushing the counter for that famous $5 slice.
