This week, Eric Asimov awards one star to Taavo Somer's Isa. He likes the food and some, but not all, of the design there: "It’s warm, it’s welcoming, the dining room smells great, and, despite the hard chairs and benches, it’s fairly comfortable. The food’s pretty good, too. Yet while Isa can be idiosyncratic in the best sense, of going its own way, it’s occasionally strange for no apparent reason." [NYT]
