Welcome to the Friday shutter report. Know of a restaurant that has met its demise? Let us know.

2) Midtown: Swissmaker, which replaced Teriyaki Boy on 7th Avenue between 48th and 49th Streets, has recently joined its predecessor and closed reports Midtown Lunch. 99-cent pretzels and "the world's best crunchy nuts" were apparently not enough to combat the high rent. [Midtown Lunch]

3) East Village: EV Grieve has an email from Xoom owner, Jennifer London, on why the smoothie and coffee bar will be closing its doors next week. Ms. London has no plans to open another Xoom location at this time but will be available to cater "a gathering, office breakfast or other such event". [EV Grieve]

4) East Village: Quantum Leap, the vegetarian restaurant on First Avenue and East 12th Street, has abruptly closed their doors due to a hefty rent increase reports EV Grieve. One sad commenter suggests finding a new, cheaper location so that the vegetarian fare can live on. [EV Grieve]
