1) Midtown: New signage announces the arrival of burgeoning chain Potbelly on 7th Avenue and 40th Street. [PLYWOOD]

2) Chelsea: Panera Bread is opening another New York branch, this time on 7th Ave. between 28th and 29th Streets. [PLYWOOD]

3) Financial District: A new location of Aroma Espresso Bar will open soon on the corner of Barclay and Church Streets. The mini chain so far has locations in Soho, Midtown, and the Upper West Side. [PLYWOOD]

4) East Village: EV Grieve reports that the East Village is getting yet another Southern-style comfort food restaurant. Bobwhite Lunch & Supper Counter, which will be opening on Avenue C and East 6th Street, will be offering Southern staples such as chicken, biscuits and grits. For those looking for a job, a sign out front says they're currently hiring. [PLYWOOD]

5) Lower East Side: The new Bowery Diner has just taken down their plywood at 241 Bowery reports Bowery Boogie. As every good diner should, they will be open 24/7 and offer breakfast daily until 5 pm. [POST-PLYWOOD]

6) Little Italy: While initially the Little Italy staple, Sal's, was thought to be closing, Bowery Boogie found out the decades old restaurant was simply moving to a new location. The marquee is already up at the new location on 384 Broome Street, boasting pasta, pizza and wine. [PLYWOOD]

7) Prospect Park South: From Ditmas Park Blog, Am Thai Bistro, a favorite of Kensington residents, has just confirmed their second location will be opening at the end of January on Church Avenue near East 10th Street in Prospect Park. [PLYWOOD]
