AOA, NY Tofu House Now Open; Zi Pep Tomorrow

1) Tribeca: AOA Bar & Grill is scheduled to open today in one of New York's notorious cursed spaces at 35 Sixth Ave. (formerly home to Trigo, Bar Artisanal, and Palea). This new bar and restaurant will offer 20 TVs, 135 seats, trivia nights, fantasy football leagues, happy hours, 25 beers on tap, and a menu featuring pizzas, burgers, crab cakes, fish 'n' chips, and sausage skillets. 2) Noho: A new coffee shop called Gasoline Alley is scheduled to open today in the old Eye Candy glasses store at 331 Lafayette St. Status: Supposedly opening today but unconfirmed; 331 Lafayette St.

3) East Village: NY Tofu House opened yesterday in the old Mondo Kim's/Cafe Hanover space on St. Mark's Place. Status: Certified Open; 6 St. Mark's Place.

4) East Village: Chef Paul Di Bari will serve specialties like duck lasagna, pork ribs, meatballs, and grilled guinea hen at his new restaurant and sister to Stuzzicheria, Zi Pep, opening tomorrow. The wine list places an emphasis on certified organic and bio-dynamic wines. Status: Opens tomorrow; 424 East 9th St., 212-475-7377.

5) East Village: Thrillist learns that Joe Dough the new sandwich spot spinoff of East Village restaurant JoeDoe is opening tomorrow on 1st Ave. In addition to sandwiches like the Conflicted Jew (chicken liver, onion, bacon) and the After Hours Special (fried bologna), they will serve giant party sandwiches.
