For months chef and empire builder Michael White has hinted (both in person and on Twitter) that he was interested in opening a pizzeria, and today he confirms to Flo Fab that he's found a spot for it. White will open a pizzeria called Nicoletta (after his daughter's middle name Nicole) at 160 Second Avenue, the old Cafe Centosette space, next spring. He'll serve six to eight different whole pies (no slices) cooked in a gas oven and topped with mozzarella made in Wisconsin and sausage made in house. The restaurant, located within spitting distance of Motorino and South Brooklyn Pizza, will seat 60 and will feature a takeout window.
