Stivale, Chiles & Chocolate, and More Serve Their Last

1) Lower East Side: Bowery Boogie discusses the various recent closures occurring on Orchard Street, adding the short lived restaurant Vie De France to the list. The storefront at 96 Orchard cannot seem to catch a break; Vie lasted roughly six months and the former business just a year. Despite the owners best efforts to bring in customers, there were scarcely any patrons inside. [ShutterWire]

2) West Village: Grub Street reports the not so surprising news that Stivale has closed for good and not just temporarily for repairs, as previously reported. This Bleecker Street restaurant has had a convoluted run, previously being Choptank and before that Bar Q. [ShutterWire]

3) Park Slope: Here's Park Slope brings word that Chiles & Chocolate, the Oaxacan restaurant on Seventh Avenue between Union and Berkeley, has closed. They think the restaurant was just too big for its own good. [HPS]

4) Lower East Side: This is probably just a temporary shutter, but Bowery Boogie notes that Khushie Kitchen on Essex Street has been closed by the Health Department. [BB]

5) Cobble Hill: Cobble Hill Blog notices that Bino on Smith Street has been seized. [CHB]
