Last year, four star Seattle restaurant Canlis won a great deal of media attention when they hid 60 year-old menus around the city, promising 1950s prices to those who could uncover them. And now New York has a restaurant world scavenger hunt of its own (though on a much smaller scale).
The owners of subterranean Greenwich Village wine bar and restaurant Bar Henry hid three empty half wine bottles around the West Village—Maison Trimbach ’Cuvee Frederic Emile,’ Krug splits, and Tenuta Il Poggione Brunello. Each bottle contains redeemable certificates for three wines on their list. One of the bottles has been found, but the other two are still at large.
In other Bar Henry news, management says they're changing their menu tonight "to reflect a more relaxed wine bar environment," meaning more bar snacks, small plates, and wine friendly fare.
