In a letter to fans and followers today, Andy Ricker, the owner of Portland's beloved Thai spot and chicken wing mecca, reveals more details on his New York City plans. He's long been hinting that he hopes to open a full service Pok Pok restaurant in the Red Hook area of Brooklyn, and says today that the deal is done. The address is 127 Columbia Street, right in the Columbia Street Waterfront District, in the old home of the short-lived 5 Burro Cafe. He writes that "Pok Pok Ny has a tiny dining room and a big outdoor seating area, kind of like Pok Pok PDX" in a neighborhood that's "quiet and full of families, parks, low key businesses with a view of the Manhattan skyline across the water."
Meanwhile, the smaller, wing-focused Pok Pok that's opening in the old BaoHaus space on Rivington Street, will be called Pok Pok WIng. New York, get ready for some new deliciousness.
