Chef Tien Ho, the man who ran the kitchen for four years at Dave Chang's Momofuku Ssam Bar before moving on to open the Momo Empire's first Midtown foray, Ma Peche, is leaving the restaurant and sous chef Paul Carmichael will be taking over, reps at the restaurant confirm. Carmichael, a Barbados native, has been with the restaurant since early 2010 and is well versed in Ho's menu. He cooked at Asiate, The Tasting Room, wd~50, and other restaurants in New York and Puerto Rico before coming to Ma Peche.
As for Ho, we have yet to hear exact plans from him, but one tipster reports that he's currently looking for both funding and a space on 10th Avenue in the hopes of opening a French bistro, perhaps by next spring.
