Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are five choice dining events going on around the city:

Where: Union Square Greenmarket
When: Saturday 11:30 AM - 2 PM
What: Rene Redzepi, of the celebrated Noma restaurant in Copenhagen, will be talking about Nordic food and distributing samples of marinated rose petals at the Union Square Greenmarket. Adam Aamann, of the soon to-open Aamann in Tribeca, and another Danish chef named Claus Henriksen will also be there, demonstrating Nordic recipes.

Where: The High Line at 14th Street
When: Saturday at 1 PM and 1:45 PM
What: Hundreds of people will eat farro soup with bread at large communal tables on The High Line. Advance tickets are all sold out, but a small amount of tickets will be available at the door for $5. There will be two 45 minute seatings—one at 1 PM and one at 1:45. Local wines, beer, and apple cider will be available for purchase separately.

Where: 213 North 8th Street
When: All day Saturday, starting at 1 PM
What: Brooklyn Winery is celebrating its first birthday by offering $6 sparkling drink cocktails all day. At 9 PM, bluegrass band Petal Shop will play some music. Admission is free, and their regular food and drink menus will also be available.

Where: 201 Mulberry Street
When: Saturday 11 AM - 7 PM
What: The Cheeses of France Marketing Council is hosting an event where they'll be giving away free French cheeses, cheese dishes, and wine. Hill Country Chicken chef Ash Fulk will be preparing dishes like Camembert grilled cheese, comte BLTs, egg pie with beaufort, and more.

When: Sunday night, starting at 5 PM
Where: 588 Grand Street
What: This laid back Williamsburg bar is hosting a mac and cheese competition, with drink specials. It's $10 to sample the goods, with all proceeds going to The Claque, a local arts organization. If you want to enter the competition (for free), e-mail
