Chef Michael White just stopped by the Eater Lounge at the Dream Hotel to spin the Wonder Wheel, eat a cupcake, and play some Jenga. He also revealed what's going on in his universe. White reveals that the long in the works Osteria Morini expansion will make its debut in early 2012. The new space will feature around 40 new seats and a salume bar. More importantly he'll be building a private dining room and a showroom.
In the PDR, White will serve dinners that explore the various regions of Emilia Romagna, featuring Parma one night, Bologna on another night, and so on, and will invite winemakers from the region to take part. White will be in the kitchen for many of these dinners, but the program will be run by former Alto chef Gordon Finn.
But that's not all. The space will also be his showroom for a new company he's starting with an unnamed (supposedly big name) chef, Artisan Kitchens. Artisan Kitchens will sell high end, luxury chef kitchens to avid home cooks, featuring warming drawers, high tech ovens and all kinds of bells and whistles. Expect more news on this and the new space as the debut approaches.
