Williamsburg butcher shop The Meat Hook recently gained some notoriety for its mysterious, booze-drenched, uber-exclusive brunch. In the past, food and beverage pairings have included: beef jerky and Schnapps, Christmas cookies with spiked coffee, and a Yorkshire pudding French toast sundae with a spicy pickle back shot. Now the shop is gearing up for what sounds like an even more sadistic, strange meal, just in time for Halloween.
On October 30, the butchers will team up with Lee Tiernan, the head chef at Fergus Henderson's celebrated St. John Bread in Wine in London, for a horror-themed "Midnight Mass." On the menu that night: blood cakes, cockles, a cloven-hoof roast, and other ghoulish, meaty delights. A $120 ticket includes wine and spirits provided by Vine Wine. Costumes are encouraged, and according to the invite, a "down-to-party attitude" is required.
This will be the first in a series of what they're calling "Fucked Up Family Functions." Book those reservations before it's too late.
