It was just back in August that Michael and Alan Stillman announced plans to take over the recently closed BLVD space on Bowery and Spring and convert it into Quality Meats Downtown. The project amazingly sailed through the community board, granting the Stillmans' two 4 AM liquor licenses for the project. But is the project now DOA? Bowery Boogie reports that the Stillmans are backing out of the project because they couldn't agree on actual lease terms with the landlord and now the space is up for grabs. The Boogie men said they have heard whispers of an EMM group takeover, but EMM principal Eugene Remm tells Eater that there is "zero truth" to the story. We're still waiting on word from Stillman.
