On Bored to Death, George Opens an Elitist Restaurant

New, 4 comments

In the new season of Bored To Death, former magazine editor George Christopher (played by Ted Danson) opens an "elitist artisanal restaurant," that looks a lot like The Waverly Inn. In last night's episode, George tells his daughter, "It's kind of my new canvas. It's like the magazine, but with steak frites." The restaurant prohibits all cell phone use, but customers can get rotary phones plugged in at their tables, which proves to be a dangerous set-up for the waiters.

Also from the season premiere, George and his pal Jonathan Ames (played by Jason Schwartzman) sip cocktails and slurp oysters at Grand Central Oyster Bar, where George remarks, "I don't know if it's the placebo effect, but I always feel so virile after eating oysters, like I should mount a woman immediately." The clips are below.
