NOHO—Il Buco announces that the wine bar/restaurant part of their new store Il Buco Alimentari & Vineria is now open at 53 Great Jones Street. The market section of the space opened last month, but they now serve a menu highlighting what they sell, including oxtail terrine serve with pickled peppers, busiate with eggplant, rotisserie meats, and panini and housemade pasta. AWARDS— The Association of Food Journalists announced winners in its Awards Competition 2011 at its annual conference in Charleston over the weekend. The finalists were previously announced back in May. According to the AFJ's website, prizes "include a certificate of honor plus $300 for first place, $200 for second place and $100 for third place." DOH CHRONICLES—Ouchie. White hot West Village Chinese restaurant Red Farm earned 73 violation points from the Department of Health on a September inspection, which is C Grade territory. Their grade is pending as they are probably waiting for a re-inspection. [DOH]
