Fraunces Tavern, where George Washington bid farewell to his troops after the Revolutionary War in 1783, has finished its renovations and is poised to reopen with a real historic look. The new owners spent almost a year exposing the tavern's original ceiling beams and had tables crafted from the original floorboards. All good efforts to rehab what may be the oldest remaining building in Manhattan. The bar held its grand opening last night and an adjoining restaurant opens on January 17. [DailyNews]
