1) West Village: Metromix, Grub Street, and The Feast all have first looks inside Zak Pelaccio's new ham and cheese sandwich restaurant and cocktail bar Fatty Johnson's. It opened last night and will stick around for the next six weeks until the Pelaccionator decides what to do with it long term. Status: Certified Open; 50 Carmine St., 212-929-5050.
2) Upper East Side: Thrillist, Flo Fab and Gael Greene report that Mahjong Dumplings, an eccentric dumpling spot owned by the folks behind Cascabel Taqueria and located within their old space, opens to the public tonight. The chef Shlomi Biton will serve dumplings filled with "ratatouille, or chorizo and egg, or fried Maryland crab, along with more Asian-accented items like Thai curried chicken and coconut." 3) Financial District: A new branch of Hello Pasta opened recently in the Financial District at 125 Maiden Lane. The Chipotle like pasta chain also has branches in Midtown, and until January 17, they're giving away free pasta to the first 25 customers every day.
