1) Upper East Side: Zagat Buzz brings word that the new Upper East Side gastopubJones Wood Foundry has soft opened, serving beer and wine along with a selection of light, cold food. The weren't able to secure a full liquor license but they'll have beer and wine cocktails to make up for it. According to the Twitter, feedback so far has been positive. 2) West Village: Fork in the Road reports that the Sixth Avenue branch of Harlem restaurant Joy Burger Bar is now open. They're open seven days a week from 11 AM to midnight and customization is the name of the game here, with three patty sizes and 12 sauces to form combinations from. 3) Nolita: From PR comes news that Billy's Bakery has opened their newest location, this one in Nolita. To celebrate, they're holding a special happy hour today from 4 to 6 PM where they'll roll back the prices on their classic chocolate or yellow daisy cupcake to the 1940s - $0.40 (limit one per person). 4) Bushwick: A tipster writes in to tell us that Arancini Bros, who've been serving up Sicilian rice balls at the Hester Street Fair, have opened up a brick and mortar location at The Wreck Room. Status: Certified open; 940 Flushing Ave., Bushwick.
