Although the dining rooms of the city are filled with many happy couples, they are also inhabited by lovesick diners looking to catch the eye of that special someone. Sometimes, these people take to Craigslist to try and find that guy or girl who they saw from across the dining room, but weren’t able to muster the courage to say something to. Here now are a few restaurant missed connections — perhaps love is on the menu for these lonely people sometime soon.
LOVE AMONGST THE COFFEE SNOBS — Most amazing ass ever, walking into Swallow Cafe - m4w - 28 (Morgan L): Yesterday morning (Friday, Dec 31) at around 10:45 am or so. You were walking past Roberta's and then turned left and eventually went into the newly opened (and extremely poorly named, if I may say so) Swallow coffee shop. I doubt you saw me because I was walking behind you, but I could NOT stop staring at your ass. You were wearing tight black athletic pants that looked kinda shiny/spandexy, dark hair pulled back, a dark jacket/sweatshirt type thing, and I believe you were holding a cigarette. Who knows whether or not you check Missed Connections, but your ass really was remarkable. Hope you and your rear end had a great New Year's Eve! [Photo]
A CHANCE ENCOUNTER —McSorley's Old Ale House - m4w (in the bathroom): You walked into the men's room while I was returning some beer. You froze, then said it was the biggest one you ever saw, then ran out. You must have left the bar, because I couldn't find you afterward. I'd like to buy you a beer sometime... [Photo]

HIGH STEAKS GAMBLER— Wolfgang's Steakhouse- Park Ave. - w4m - 30: I believe that if its meant to be, our paths will cross again, but what if I'm wrong? I do hope this works... It was back in Sept. It was the Friday night that started Fashion Week. I was at the bar having a glass of wine with my guy friend. You were sitting in the window, waiting for your friend. When I first saw you, I was drawn to you. You came over to pay your tab and I couldn't breathe. It wasn't until after you left that I thought of what I could have done while we were in the same place. Obviously too late. Let me know if you're still out there... [Photo]
SPEAKING THE LANGUAGE OF LOVE—On 51st Outside Maria Pia - m4m - 32: Hi. I was reading the menu with my date, and turned and made major eye contact with you as you walked by. You said "hi" and that for some reason caught me by surprise. The night was going all wrong and it was nice to see smiling, friendly face. This was important because it reminded me there is a whole world of opportunity out there, and we just need to be open to it. If it were different circumstances I would have struck up a conversation with you. I know this is a huge shot in the dark, but if you read this I'd like to say thanks over a drink. Anyone else reading this, remember something great could be just around the corner... [Photo]
