Cobble Hill gets a new place for southern grub today with the opening of Van Horn Sandwich Shop. This 30 seat charmer on Court St. is the first restaurant from North Carolina native and former architect Jacob Van Horn, who tapped Commodore and Roberta's vet Rick Hauchman to execute a menu of Dixie-inspired sandwiches, salads and sides. The bread and meat are sourced locally, and the bar features a selection of craft brews on tap, as well as tall boys of Bud and a cocktail list of old-school classics. The shop is currently open from 11AM-11PM for lunch and dinner, but they also plan to roll out breakfast in a few weeks. Call (718) 596-9707 to place a take-out order. Have a look around and check out the menu below.
