The Ember Room, the new project from the unlikely, perhaps inspired pairing of Todd English and Ian Chalermkittichai, is slated to make its debut next Wednesday. Recent Criagslist job postings described the place as a "sleek and sexy MEGA CONCEPT" and a "BRAND NEW HOT restaurant." And although we've seen a few design shots so far, including one of a strange, gold bell covered ceiling, the Ember Room team has kept mum about what the menu will be like other than "a fresh twist on American Asian BBQ." But now, with one week to go, we're starting to get a peek at some of the offerings of what very well may be the biggest Hell's Kitchen Asian BBQ opening of Winter 2011.

TONY gets a few nice pics of a the food, including a whole lacquered BBQ duck and some chocolate-covered baby back ribs — but most of the dishes fall into the "bites" category, at least to our eyes. And right now deal site Gilt City is offering a lunch for two at the Ember Room featuring four dim sum plates and a bowl of stone wok fried rice, plus beer or a cocktail for $58. That meal is discounted from $100, which sounds a bit steep for some snacks, rice and a drink, but maybe it's more substantial than it sounds. All will be revealed when she opens her doors on February 2.
