Inspired by his team's win on this week's Restaurant Wars episode of Top Chef, current cheftestant and Buddakan chef Dale Talde is bringing his "Bodega" restaurant to the people of New York. Details are scarce at the moment (as Talde wants it to be), but he tells Eater that he's converting a warehouse space on the Bowery for at least one night of service—but maybe more—to serve a bodega-themed menu. Considering this, John Fraser's What Happens When, and Zak Pelaccio's Fatty Johnson's, it seems that pop-ups, all the rage in Los Angeles over the last year, are making a strong showing in New York.
And for those who want to taste another winning meal from a reality show, last night Marc Forgione began serving the meal that secured his win on The Next Iron Chef. The five course meal costs $89, features sweet potato soup, duck sausage, and lobster tail, and will be served until February.
