Yesterday, we heard that the first Manhattan location of Brooklyn's famed Grimaldi's Pizzeria in the Limelight Marketplace would be firing up the ovens early and giving out sample slices to the neighbors. And lo and behold, a lucky early taste tester tweeted the above photo. The verdict? The cheese and sauce configuration looks identical to the pies at the Dumbo shop, but we'd say the crust is maybe a few centimeters too narrow at the top. These differences are understandable — it's a big move, after all — and they've still got a few days to iron out these minor kinks before they kick open the doors. The books are set for a February 1 debut, but there's a chance that it could open as soon as next Monday — we'll keep you posted.
