The Grimaldi's in the Limelight Marketplace, the first location of the famed pizzeria to successfully hit Manhattan, was originally scheduled to open shortly after the mall/food court did last May. Then it was delayed a few months, then a few more. When we spoke to someone at Limelight at the end of December they said the pizzeria would definitely open sometime in January. And today, Mad Park News hears that this upcoming Monday will be the special day. In anticipation of the opening, workers will be handing out free pizza samples this week to get the locals appropriately psyched.
The first Manhattan Grimaldi's will be open 24/7 and will also have a takeout window serving slices.
