1) Park Slope: 20 year-old Park Slope staple La Taqueria shuttered its sitdown area back in October but kept its takeout window open. Now a tipster reports the whole operation is donski: "Just walked by La Taqueria on 7th Avenue in Park Slope. Was actually going to stop in an get some "Tacos D.F." to warm up but the place had a HUGE "Auction" sign on the front of the store. Folks were inside and clearly some kind of "check this stuff out before auction" action happening inside. Signs in the window basically thanks the customers for 20+ years of business, but they were closing and their last night was January 16th. They redirected folks to Rachel's on 5th Avenue (the other shop they own)." The owners explain what happened, "It’s the economy, it’s rent, it’s tough times." [ShutterWire]
