The city of New York, and more specifically Williamsburg, probably has enough faux old timey bars, complete with distressed wood floors, old framed photographs, and a antique looking wallpaper. But perhaps we can make room for one more.
Meet Maison Premiere, a new oyster bar and cocktail den meant to evoke the 1890's French Quarter New Orleans. It comes to us from Josh Boissy, the founding chef at Williamsburg French bistro Le Barricou, is designed by John and Kevin McCormick from Moto (which explains why it has some of the same romantic flourishes as their other projects Five Leaves and Smith and Mills), and sits on Bedford Ave. at Grand.
There are still some final tweaks to be made and a final Dept. of Health inspection to pass, but as seen in the gallery above, the restaurant is pretty much ready to go and should hit its targeted opening date of January 29.
Maxwell Britten, a rising star in the mixology world and a recent alum of Freemans and Jack the Horse Tavern, just signed on to be head barman. Stay tuned for more as the opening approaches.
