Some more information has come to the surface regarding the battle for Meatpacking District hotspots Bagatelle, Kiss and Fly and RDV, where we can now confirm the rumors that Aymeric Clemente and Remi Laba are being forced out of the business by their other partners. According to a tipster, the drama started last year when Remi Laba bashed One Group president Jonathan Segal in a Crain's article, even though he is a minority partner in their three venues. This led to internal bickering, and partner and former Aer Lounge owner and Goya Foods magnate Andy Unanue (who is also the building's owner and tried to run for a US Senate in New Jersey) took Segal's side. Now Unanue and Segal want to force the promotional powerhouses out of the business, and Remi and Aymeric's offices above Bagatelle have been padlocked while the businesses remain open. No one is talking until after the issue is heard in court later this month. We hear that a major sticking point is the naming rights, especially with their Hamptons venues. Hopefully this doesn't impact the brunch parties!
