Compose isn't the only restaurant jumping on the chef's table bandwagon. Fork in the Road reports that Carteles, the Cuban sandwich shop that sits below rum bar Cocteleria and next to full on restaurant El Cobre, has closed. Owner Ravi DeRossi says he'll now use the space for special events, cocktail courses, and a chef's table, "a prix-fixe reservation-only dining room with guest mixologists pairing Latin-flavored cocktails with our chef's choices for the day."
No word yet on whether it will be as grand or as pricey as the restaurant that recently inspired this trend—Cesar Ramirez's runaway hit, Brooklyn Fare—but we're assuming, given the ethos of the complex, it will be a little more accessible.
