2011_01_oscars.jpgWhile investigating the source of Fedora's old sugar bowls—which touted the name 'Oscar's' on them—Jeremiah Moss uncovers the tale of Oscar's Salt of the Sea, a longtime Upper East Side haunt that closed in the 80's. Barbra Streisand used to live above the restaurant before making it big, and Jim Henson named his famous Sesame Street grouch after one of the waiters there. Many early muppets drawings were done on their paper placemats. [JVNY]
