Today, with the drop of Flo Fab's official monster Fall Preview list, the official fall restaurant season has officially begun. It's official. The list this year contains few surprises and a much of it has already been seen in the versions from TONY, New York, Metromix, and Zagat.
But there are a couple of new reveals: Restaurateur Bobby Werhane is opening a restaurant called Spasso with a Convivio alum, Michael Psilakis' do over at the former Kefi and Gus and Gabriel space will be a seafood restaurant called Fish Tag, Julian Medina is opening a branch of Toloache on the Upper East Side, the new Greenpoint restaurant from the owner of Spitzer's Corner will be called Spritzenhaus, Sam Talbot's Mondrian restaurant will be called Imperial No. 9, and Francesco Antonucci and designer Adam Tihany are going to turn the Bruno Jamais townhouse "into a warm setting for homestyle Italian food."
The Times also previews the tiki-inspired new spots Hurricane Club and Lani Kai. They attend a couple of preview tasting sessions at Jonathan Benno's highly anticipated (and oft-covered by the Times) newcomer Lincoln, offering a photo slideshow of the restaurant and the tasting process. And they get a sneak peek at some of the dishes at Marcus Samuelsson's Red Rooster and Ciano.
