Yesterday came word that Eleven Madison Park had dropped its $28 two course lunch and reformatted the the menu so that just ingredients, not full dish descriptions were listed. But there's more: They also removed 34 seats, got rid of the hostess stand, and dropped the bar menu and all a la carte options, all in the hopes of transforming the restaurant "from an overachieving neighborhood restaurant into one of the world’s standard bearers of fine dining."
